Equipment Requirements

As a reminder, the Nassau REMAC requires that ambulance must have the following equipment on board:

     BLS - Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)

                Pulse-oximeter

     ALS - Glucometer (Special Note:  this item requires a limited lab license, any agency that has not filed for this license must do so without delay in order to insure that you will be able to place the Glucometer in service by January 1st.)

NEW State Equipment Requirement

The State DOH will be issuing SEMAC Advisory 08-01 “Confirmation of ETT Required Capnography” on January 2, 2009.  The implementation date is June 1, 2009.  The Advisory fully explains the requirements; it can be viewed and /or downloaded by clicking this link:
